Lord Hanuman and Sindoor

Jai Hanumana Gnana Guna Sagara...

   This is a very small story. We all would have seen Hanuman wearing sindhoor all over his body and if they give the Sindhoor as Prashad we simply take it and come back home. But any of us had questioned why Hanuman loves to wear Sindhoor all over his body?

Here goes the story...........

   After the war, when Lord Rama returned back with his consort to Ayodya, a lot of other people came back with them. Lord Rama became the King, many people returned back including Vibhishana. But Hanuman stayed back. He did service life long for Rama as he was an ardent devotee. Once, Hanuman observed Sita mata wearing a Sindhoor on the partition of her hair. When he inquired why she was doing so, she replied that she was wearing the Sindhoor in the name of Lord Rama and for the love she shared, and also for the longevity of his life.

  Lord Hanuman was impressed and wanted to show his love and devotion, and also wanted his beloved God to live a longer life. So, he immediately applied Sindhoor all over his body.

Even though this seems really comical, still it shows the love and devotion he had for Shri Ram.
