Again a story about Sage Agastya- Sage Agastya and the Vindya Mountains

You may be wondering why am I giving so much importance to Sage Agastya? It is said that Sage Agstya is one of the Saptarishi Utradhikaris and the foremost Sage who worked for the progress of the language Tamil. He also had the power to foresee the future and was also a scientist.

Today, I am going to tell a beautiful story of how Sage Agastya brought down the pride of the Mount Vindya and how he balanced the earth. The mountain range Vindyas are the foremost range which divides the northern and southern parts of India. Once, mount Vindyas had become so jealous of the mount Kailash and wanted to grow like that. So it started growing so tall that it started blocking the movement of the Sun and the Moon. The Sun and the Moon went and pleaded to Lord Shiva to solve their issues. At the same time, Lord Shiva was going to get married to Goddess Parvati. So all the people, sages and great Kings had gathered to see the glorious moment. As everyone had gathered in the northern part, there was no balance and the southern part started to go down. So to balance the world, Lord Shiva requested Sage Agastya to go and stand in the Southern side, as he is equal to each one of them on the earth. Sage Agastya was really unhappy as the Lord was sending him away during the grand ceremony and he would not be able to see the moment. Immediately Lord Shiva promised that he would make Sage Agastya alone visualize the whole pomp. The sage became really happy and started on his journey. When he reached the Vindyas, he was unable to cross it as it was really huge. So, he requested the mount to leave him way and told it that it can come back to its original position after he returns back. The Vindyas also obliged and became shorter and left way. As soon as the sage stood on the southern part the world became balanced and the marriage went on well. But for the Vindyas it was a disappointment as it waited for the Sage to come back. But the sage never returned and settled himself in the southern parts for the growth of the Tamil language.
